My early morning coffee ritual is my favorite part of the day so the coffee has to be perfect. I discovered café gavi doing an online search for family owned farms for ethical reasons and a product that would arrive shortly after harvesting and roasting. I found my coffee. I get the Intense roast which is perfect for my espresso/cappucino machine but I am certain it would be great in a press or pour over or how ever you do your coffee. It’s rich, fresh and flavorful, I love it. When you open the package you are greeted by the amazing aroma of very fresh beans. Also the packages arrive very quickly from Colombia to the West Coast where I live so I know I’m not getting old beans.
Good intense aroma, enjoyable but we have decided to mix the beans with other Colombian beans to create an even better expresso flavor.

I sent 2 emails to the site advertising the coffee and they did not respond which is very insulting. I got the coffee and it says do not use in boiling water. I have a French Dip maker and my question was, what kind of coffee brewing should I need so I can use this coffee.

For French press, use hot—not boiling—water (195–205°F / 90–96°C) and a medium-coarse grind; steep about 4 minutes and plunge gently. Coffee aficionado here with many years of “experience” in coffee tasting. This is one of the best coffee experiences I’ve had in my life. The intense coffee has a syrupy consistency, smooth texture, full body, intense taste that I put in a category of its own. Many years ago I had an exceptional cup of coffee from Colombia and I had been looking for it in every possible Colombian coffee out there only to be quickly disappointed…my search has ended. Looking forward to a 5 pound bag (please!). I began my review stating this is not for everyone because it isn’t. Great coffee is not cheap, but cheap coffee will never be great!
